The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the Federal and State Governments to take immediate and practical steps to protect citizens throughout the yuletide season and beyond. The party made the call in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, in Abuja on Thursday, while reacting to the Christmas eve explosion in Gamboru Market, Maiduguri
The PDP, through its National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, condemned the Christmas Eve explosion at a mosque in Gamboru Market, Maiduguri, describing it as a stark reminder of Nigeria’s worsening security situation.
Ememobong stated that the attack was unacceptable and required urgent attention, saying, “We commiserate with families who lost loved ones in this senseless attack. No one should die while worshipping God. Continued attacks on places of worship will violate Nigerians’ constitutional right to worship and create fear, threatening our religious society.”
He emphasized the need for concrete, actionable security strategies, saying Nigerians deserve more than empty promises
