Nigerians are currently protesting on x formerly twitter and tagging all international bodies to come to their Aid, you might ask why?
for over 10 years according to the people in the grant community in Nigeria, there are grants which belongs to the Nigerians which the government have refused to release
in the past processes there where several things that must be done to facilitate this grant, being the fact that such large amount of money from donors and sponsors outside the country hasn’t being disbursed before
therefore certain modalities that must be put in place to make sure there is fairness and pure distribution to all who subscribed for different grants with different NGO’s. parent NGOs have to partner with smaller Ngo’s and smaller Ngo require getting data info from different places such as ‘churches’, mosques, companies and organizations, etc.
according to top hierarchy in the grant ecosystem Nigeria, there are more than 10 grants available to be disbursed to the masses in Nigeria , which are in the custody of different grant handlers, however they must work with the Central Bank of Nigeria to make sure all checks and balances are put in place, then the federal government gives approval to the grant handlers to do the needful which is disbursement
in past years notable figures like Ngozi Iweala former president “Olusegun Obansajo” had intervened and settled disputes to make sure the grant is disbursed , still nothing has being done,
Even IMF AND World bank have partnered with the CBN to see smooth process of this grant, everything necessary has been done ,necessary data submitted, all the grant handlers are waiting for a call from the federal government to do the needful, still the federal government have refused to listen to the cry of people who are dying because of hunger
in this long process of waiting a lot of people have died, early 2025 some projects like community development project(aka pioneer) where introduced whereby people paid money to get a higher price doing more than they can afford which has lead to unnecessary extortion from middlemen in the grant community and the death of many rising from Blood pressure (BP) when they can’t repay loan at the given deadline, believing the promises of the government that they will instruct the grant handlers to do the needful, causing great serious chaos in the Grant community.
Just within 2025 till date, a lot has happened, people have died, student dropping out and many more all Nigerians are asking for is for this fund to be released to the masses , most especially in full as promised so they will be economic relief and to make sure Nigeria becomes great again and they are assured that this tweeting currently going on on X formely twitter will yield results, they are calling on international bodies such has @UNICEF,@UNICEF_Nigeria@amnesty @WorldBank @IMFNews @UNDP on X to come their aid
